About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced SDET / QA Automation Engineer to join an Agile development team and take ownership of automated testing across the software development lifecycle.
This is not a traditional manual QA role. We are looking for an engineer who can build and maintain reliable automation, work closely with developers, contribute to CI/CD, and actively improve software quality from feature planning through to release.
What You'll Do:
* Design, develop and maintain automated tests using Playwright and C#/.NET.
* Build and maintain UI, API, smoke, regression and end-to-end automation
* Integrate automated testing into Azure DevOps pipelines / CI/CD.
* Work with Azure DevOps Test Plans, Test Suites, Test Cases and Bugs.
* Perform API testing using Postman / REST APIs.
* Use SQL Server for data validation and troubleshooting.
* Investigate failed and flaky tests and continuously improve test reliability.
* Contribute to automation framework design, maintenance and improvement.
* Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate directly with developers throughout the development lifecycle.
* Perform manual exploratory testing where automation is not appropriate.
* Identify testing gaps, risks and edge cases before they become production issues.
Essential Requirements:
* Strong hands-on Playwright experience.
* Strong working knowledge of C# and .NET.
* Proven experience in QA automation / SDET roles.
* Experience building, maintaining or significantly improving automation frameworks.
* Azure DevOps experience, including Pipelines and Test Plans.
* CI/CD experience.
* API testing experience.
* REST API testing.
* **SQL / SQL Server experience.
* Experience working within an Agile development team.
* Strong programming, debugging and problem-solving skills.
* A genuine automation-first engineering mindset.
