Position: Flexo Printing Assistant Operator

Department: Production / Printing

Location: Chennai (or as applicable)

Reports To: Flexo Printing Operator / Production Supervisor

Job Summary

Assist the Flexo Printing Operator in setting up, operating, and maintaining flexographic printing machines to ensure high-quality printing, maximum productivity, and minimum wastage while following safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

·         Assist in machine setup, job changeovers, and production preparation.

·         Mount printing plates, anilox rollers, doctor blades, and cylinders as instructed.

·         Load substrates such as labels, paper, film, and other materials into the machine.

·         Prepare and supply inks, solvents, and consumables for production.

·         Monitor print quality, color consistency, registration, and defects during production.

·         Support the operator in maintaining machine speed and production targets.

·         Help perform cleaning of printing units, ink trays, rollers, and machine components.

·         Maintain housekeeping around the press and work area.

·         Assist in troubleshooting minor machine issues and report major problems to the operator or supervisor.

·         Record production data, wastage, downtime, and material consumption.

·         Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures.

Required Skills

·         Basic knowledge of flexographic printing processes.

·         Understanding of inks, substrates, and printing materials.

·         Ability to identify print defects and quality issues.

·         Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machine operations.

·         Good communication and teamwork skills.

·         Ability to work in shifts and under production deadlines.

Qualifications

Diploma / ITI / Any Technical Qualification preferred.

1–3 years of experience in Flexographic Printing, Label Printing, or Packaging Printing.

Freshers with relevant technical training may also be considered.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for long periods.

Capable of lifting printing materials and machine components.

Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with moving machinery.

Preferred Experience: Experience in operating or assisting on Mark Andy, Gallus, Nilpeter, Omet, MPS, or other narrow-web/wide-web flexographic printing machines.
